Laura Begley Bloom is deputy editor of Travel + Leisure, where her unique blend of skills—editorial expertise, creative vision, strategic marketing, multimedia branding, content creation—has resulted in both enhanced reader engagement and business growth for the company.
An expert in the travel field, Laura appears regularly on television outlets including NBC Today, CBS This Morning, ABC Good Morning America, CNN, and CNBC. She also moderates panels and has been a featured speaker at conferences hosted by the Harvard Business School, the NYU Hospitality School, the Adventure Travel Trade Association, the American Express Publishing Luxury Summit, and more.
Before joining Travel + Leisure, Laura was a travel editor at Condé Nast’s Brides magazine. Previously, she was a reporter at Money magazine and a stringer for The New York Times. She began her journalism career as an intern with the I-Team, the investigative unit of WCCO-TV, Minneapolis’s CBS affiliate. She has also contributed to Wallpaper, Elle Decor, Fortune, Glamour, Men’s Journal, InStyle, London Telegraph, the Minneapolis Star Tribune, and more.
Journalism is part of Laura’s heritage. Her great great grandfather was a Civil War correspondent for the Chicago Tribune and a member of the legendary Bohemian Brigade.
A graduate of Smith College with a degree in Economics and East Asian Studies, Laura has been a member of the Board of Directors for the Alumnae Association and continues to act as an adviser to the college’s Alumnae Quarterly. She and her family live in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn and Amagansett, New York.
